Yes, it's my trademark, and yes, it's a trademark I adore, but nevertheless I'd like to take a moment to honor some of the best poems I wrote that don't involve ponies whatsoever, and give a little background on them.

~The Warrior Cometh (fav.me/d5k4jec) If I never wrote this, I wouldn't have become a poet. It's the earliest poem I recall writing (save for one about school) and I remember it came to me very easily. I was in the 6th or 7th grade and was listening to the band Dragonforce quite often, this poem is basically my tribute to them. Now my Dragonforce CDs are piles of dust, and this poem is quasi-famous in my household, my grandpa even picked one line in it to be his epitaph one day. Fancy that.

~YYX (fav.me/d5jo51h) I was in Biology class learning about sex chromosomes, and we had just learned about people with three of them and how some are hermaphrodites. The title came first, due to my fanaticism of the band Rush, and before long I was cooking up a poem about hermaphrodites that uses its own unique format. Although, after I wrote the initial notes I wouldn't end up writing it until about a year later.

~Cerebral Intercourse (fav.me/d4x3o33) As to why I wrote it I will only say that there was a girl and I was stupid about it. Well, at least I have this to make up for it. I had David Bowie's song "Hallo Spaceboy" stuck in my head and I got a strong urge to write something weird and freaky. Then I wrote the most ironically pretty love poem I've ever known.

~Monday (fav.me/d5l1avq) I really like Mondays. Not much else to say here.

~The Sound That Time Forgot (fav.me/d5likd5) I was listening to the Jesus and Mary Chain and this poped into my head. The first version had weird sexual imagery in it. I thought myself mad for it. But then as I edited it it started to have this fantastical mystique about it, and it ended up being one of my best poems.

~Waking Dream (fav.me/d5pz45y) I wrote this as a free write in English class, about how tired I was at the time. It's short, sweet, and to the point.

~From Dusk to Eternity (fav.me/d5qfm8q) One of many poems I wrote while listening to the Cure's album Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. Another one of note is Princess Insomnia. I don't know what it is about that album that makes me feel so darn poem-ey.

~Blank Canvas (Painted is the Painter) (fav.me/d5ppprx) This poem is brilliant and I love it. Period.

~The Last Page (fav.me/d5o84mw) I reached the last page of my notebook, and this happened.

~Negligence (fav.me/d5mhn3y) I wrote this Howl-inspired epic for a school assignment, and it remains to this day the poem I put more work into than any other poem. I wrote 3 drafts and edited each extensively. But upon reading it again recently, I found it rather depressing and cerebral, and didn't really like that about it, amazing as it still was. Which led me to write...

~A Foresight of Harmony (the Inner Sprite) (fav.me/d5v37jy) ...this. Equally as epic and spiritual, but also very joyous, the hallmark of my new direction. Also very close to Negligence in terms of production, with 1 extensive edit/rewrite.
