Uncharted Territory

So, I've been writing poems at a constant enough pace, but I'm becoming increasingly dissatisfied by a great number of them (a problem that's been ongoing for a while now), and I recently confronted the issue head on. First, I looked at all my poems that I was dissatisfied with and asked myself "What's wrong with them? What's there not to like?" This produced nothing. So, I decided to look at all of my poems that I still like, and immediately saw similarities. They were clever, endearing, and all but devoid of sociopolitical or philosophical messages. So, in a nutshell my new creative direction is "Less thinking, more smiling." Let's see where that goes.
